Sending Flowers For Anniversaries And Other Types Of Celebrations

By Anne Sanders

When mailing a flower delivery to family and friends, one should also make certain that they're sending the right message. One can't just grab a stem of flower from a floral selection and tell the flower shop clerk that he wants to have a bundle of that species and send it on its way to the receiver. Quality over quantity is forever the rule of thumb when giving out gifts, even when they're as commonplace as flowers. What will make a big difference with your flower gift is how it is packaged and how well it will appear in the arms of the recipient or at the dinner table.

If you want to send flowers to your family but don't have any idea on how to choose the right flowers for them, then here are a few tips on how to do it:

Congratulatory Flowers. Congratulatory flowers praise the achievements of people and obviously come in lively colors like pink, white, gold and orange. As for the variety of congratulatory flowers, the most popularly used are daisies, alstroemerias, roses, orchids and daffodils.

Housewarming Flowers. Housewarming flowers are like congratulatory flowers but can usually include exotic floral species like birds of paradise and orchids. In some instances, Ikebana style or Zen bonsai arrangements could be given, as well as money trees, although this would vastly depend on the good taste and sensibility of the receiver.

Funeral Flowers. The most common types of blossoms given to the family of the deceased include tulips, daisies, carnations, and roses; although the taste of the recipient has to be greatly considered. The blossoms often come in pink and white hues to represent peace and a fresh start. Moreover, the flowers are gifted in the form of stands or wreaths to symbolize an extension of support and fortitude through hard times and also eternal life.

Romantic Flowers. Ah, the blossoms of love! Romantic flowers often occur in colors that express desire and love such as red, pink, and orange. Blossoms given as a sign of affection often comprise alstroemeria, stargazer lilies, roses, carnations, irises and asters.
